The Time Between the Amen and There It Is

You ever have a problem sandwich? You know problems both in front and behind you while you’re in the middle? Well, insert Israelites here! The Red Sea was before them and angry Egyptians were behind them, wanting to take them back to slavery. I also believe they, the Egyptians were big mad because the Israelites’ Big God, showed up and showed all the way out.

I can only imagine the racing thoughts through the former slaves, of being recaptured and sent back to a fate probably much worse.

I’m at a Red Sea moment. I have the path behind me and the sea ahead of me, waiting for it to part. I’m waiting on my there it is moment. I’m waiting for my plane to land so I can kiss the ground the Creator breathed into existence. While I’m here, Imma keep it real, I’m trying not to pull my hair out as the water around me gets deeper. I sometimes think about the people who had to wait, like really wait on God.

Biblical Examples of Waiting on God

  1. Abraham and Sarah: They waited 25 years for the promise of their son, Isaac.

  2. Joseph: He spent years in slavery and prison before his dreams were fulfilled.

  3. David: Anointed as king but waited many years before taking the throne. These examples show that God's timing is perfect, and His promises are worth the wait.

Looking at them, I’m silently hoping my wait is not as long as theirs.

How I Cope with Waiting

Even though I feel like pulling my hair out at times, I have made the choice to rest. This is easier said than done of course, but not impossible. I’ve come to realize more and more that when I choose worry, I choose headaches that turn into migraines. So, instead of that, I’ve decided to skip the worry like Uno and reverse it back to the King. I mean, He did say, I’d be kept in perfect peace, that complete peace if my mind, my thoughts stays on him. Let me (insert tongues) and retrain my brain to think on things Above.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
— Romans 15:13

I also choose to HOPE in the good that’s coming, even though it feels I need binoculars to see it. While hoping, I stay productive. I keep writing, serving, art gallerying, etc. In the meantime, in between time, you can find me waiting on my there it is with coffee in hand and tennis shoes on. Because when I see it, I’m running! Tell me below, how are you waiting?

If it’s one thing I know, it’s how to bend. Whether it’s people people-ing or life life-ing, I’ve experienced heart ache and pain, (who hasn’t) but I’ve also experienced God’s amazing grace, provision, protection to say the least. And that’s what I write about, the fight and the rainbows!
